Roi tool-introduction

You have arrived at the website where you can access the Return on Investment(ROI) Tool to estimate the return on investment from chronic disease prevention programs.

This ongoing project uses estimates from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Chronic Disease Cost Calculator, the California Health Interview Survey (CHIS), and a number of other sources (see the User Guide). We update the information periodically (last update: April 2024). Your comments are welcomed.

The Return on Investment Tool uses the estimates of healthcare costs and losses in health outcomes for each of seven chronic conditions to estimate the savings in costs and health outcomes that would occur from a chronic disease prevention program or intervention.
